A white fae padded into the lands, looking around she realized she saw almost nothing. Stopping to gaze at the trees once more, the femme seemed to be hesitating. Then as if at long last she realized nothing was going to jump up and attack her the femme sat down.Looking down at her front paws the wolf seemed to be trying to find something to do, breacking her gaze away from her paws she looked ahead of her. She saw air,and forest, and that was about it.[i[Are there wolfs here ?[/i]] the fae thought silently, still not a word slipping from her maw. Then with one more carefull gaze arouned the forest around her, the fae rasied a paw. A small bubble of water apperd, the fae moved the water to the right with a swich of her paw, then to the left. The bubble of water than expanded, takeing shape of a carefully formed square. The square turned back into a circle, the circle became bigger, and bigger and bigger, until it was about the size of the wolfs head and her front body combined. Then for a small seconed both front paws of the wolf were above ground, the bubble rose above the wolfs head. Place ing her one paw down the wolf looked at her creation.Than she sneezed. The bubble came falling down, splaching water on the fae.Drenched with water the femme tried to shake it of, only makeing her pelt fluff at the edges. The wolf ended up sitting in a sulking position, angrey that her water-bubble had broken.[/size] Wolf : Savoy Words : 262 Comments : First Post.

The eternally golden forest had been silent for some time, as if the trees were waiting for a newcomer to approach them. It was the excitement in the trees that roused a handsome gold-streaked brute from his den. Though he was far from an earth elemental, Relic knew his home well enough to tell when someone was near. Stretching his limbs, Relic shook out his white and gold pelt before raising his head to look around at the nearby trees. Branches spread out proud and tall bearing leaves that were forever gold yet not one dropped despite the autumn season. The cool fall-time breeze brought to him the scent of another, a fae not far from the borders of his realm.
Setting off at a brisk pace the large brute wove through the gold-leafed trees with the ease of one born in the Goldband. Narrow tracks made by generations of wandering deer and rabbits were mapped out in his head so that Relic merely traveled them out of habit with extreme ease. His mismatched eyes were bright with health, intelligence and content as he approached the outer rims of the Goldband, home of the Arian Pack. His pawsteps slowed as he trekked up a slope and stood upon the crest in time to see a fae sitting at the base, looking sulky and unhappy.
Harks swerved forward as he studied her carefully from a distance. His golden left eye and blue right eye made him stand out as well as the star traced around his blue eye. Raising his head proudly, Relic padded down the hill, grass whispering around his paws as he moved. Approaching the fae, Relic came to a stop a few yards from her so he wouldn't scare her. His tail hung limply behind him showing no real sign of rank but his proud head and fine appearance would mark him as the lord of the Goldband.
"Welcome to the lands of the Arian Pack. What is your business here?" Relic asked, his deep tones enchanting and rich like honey.

The fae had been looking ahead of her, yet looking up at the same time.It was when she heard the brutes voice that she noticed that the leaves of the trees where gold, a very intresting thing at least. But the words of the brute also made something tick in her mind, so this place was the Arian pack lands ? Or was she looking at the Arien pack lands ? Calculating this in her mind the femme seemed preoccupied for a while.Than she carefully turned torward the white and gold wolf that called himself Relic.Seeing that she was more or likely going to find out soon enough she gave a flick of her right ear, sending water off in that drection.
Trying to considor what to do, the femme tried to look like she was happy being sopping wet.Was she to run, or stay, was she to talk, or not talk, and her very last wonder was she to possibly end this time as going to join the Arian pack ? All of the possible ansers seemed to be set in order. The femme ended up not wanting to run, it was a odd feeling for her, she had always ethier ran,or had been cast out.She trembled at the thought of being cast of, rembering when she had been chought in the blizzard. She lifted a front paw than set it down, tilting her head in wonder as a trio of small water bubbles cascaded up around her . Letting the bubbles settle on her pelt she realized what her anser would be.Turning her head she let the glint of the sun falling off the golden leaves play along her eye markings, than turning back to the wolf she spoke.
"I didn`t know I was on the lands of the Arian.I am Xing Savoyla, pleased to meet you."She lifted a paw agian and placed it down sending more tiny water bubbles cascadeing around her.

Sitting himself back on his powerful haunches, Relic regarded the femmora with his mismatched eyes, both stunningly clear and bright. He watched her antics, mostly using her powers for bubbles which made the brujo frown mentally. The fae was sopping wet and yet she was still using her powers. It was odd as far as Relic was concerned but at least she was courtious enough, giving her name. He'd met his share of rude wolves that either didn't give their name or demanded his first. Oh well. Raising his head a little, the gold and ivory brujo flared his ears forward toward the fem, watching as a trio of water bubbles settled on her pelt. A small frown curved his maw as he watched her.
"Why do you use your power for no reason?" Relic asked. "There is no one to attack you here nor any need for using your element and yet you waste it."
His words were lightly disapproving with an undertone of curiosity though it could be easily mistaken for arrogance. He didn't use his powers very much unless in battle because that was simply how he was taught. His family had made him master his element which was light but had also taught him to respect it but not use it just for his own amusement like whelps did when they discovered they had a power. Some wolves regarded Relic as a powerless wolf, no more then boast and bluster until he banished them to the world of darkness by stealing their sight with a blast of his light. He was powerful enough to control the intensity of his lights, casting them dimly if he set foot in a cavern but then flaring them bright as the sun to blind his enemies.
The way Xing Savoyla was using her powers, well it didn't make sense. Was she just a young whelp showing off? Relic didn't think so, she was obviously a mature female. Her scent carried none of the lingering hints of youth but only maturity and yet she dabbled in her powers like one of the den-pups.

She tipped a ear torward the brute, a signal to say that she had heard his reply. She blinked a eye and the bubbles of water dissaperd. She was a Intermediate user of water, trying to get better at it. When other wolfs thought it strange for her to use her powers in front of them she had at first been mad.Though over time she had grown accustemed to hearing others wonder why she was playing at sutch antics. Yet most saw that she could estinguich her workings with a blink of a orb or a twitch of her plume of a tail. But she was intrested in what this brute had for a power. She cast a odd colored orb over him,Light?Air? his coat was white and golen, gold could also mean thunder.Furrowing her brows she slammed a paw to the ground in fusturation.Unfortunatly the movement sent a rather large bubble of dark water up into the air.Savoy stood then and with a twich of her tail sent the bubble of water cascading into the forest to land among some trees and splach down there.
"I was forced to rely on my powers many times twice in a blizzard and once when a pack of fire wolfs decided it was f-"She cut her words off, realizeing that she must be giveing too mutch away, she took a deep breath and thingyinued on."I don`t mean to use them for n reason, I was just taught to do so."
She thought of her anser, standing still for a moment. She had been taught to defend herself she had been taught to do many things that other wolfs her age wouldn`t dare to do.Yet, when she had been sent out in the blizzard her powers had seemed almost useless .Then when she had reached the lands of the fire pack she had been taught to make a image with fire.Than had been cast away. Her past was a mess of odd happenings and yet it had led her here. She shudderd when she remberd what the fire wolfs had done to her.She still had the scars.Rasieing her head to look at the brutes un-even gaze she found herself thinking of what her mother had taught her.Looking away she wondered if she could still do the trick.Sighing she sat down.Waiting for what was to come.

Alert harks perked forward to listen as Savoy spoke, the large brute listening patiently. He did notice she seemed to cut herself off, hiding something from him but Relic didn't hold it against her. He'd never told anyone the fate of his siblings and father at the words of Austrila so he couldn't hold it against others to keep things from him. Instead, Relic patiently listened though he was sure he could assume what Savoy had been going to say. Some of the wolves with sicker minds had the idea that it was "amusing" to torment wolves of a rival element such as fire elementals setting the forests ablaze to distress the earth-keepers. It made his heart heavy to think there were wolves that would disrespect their powers like that but knew that aggression was often misplaced among wolves. They were mad at the equines so they warred with one another for the sake of bloodlust.
Shaking his regal head, Relic sighed and opened his mismatched eyes to study the femmora before him. "Do as you will then" Relic barked simply with a slight shrug. "If you would like to roam in the lands of the Arian, you are welcome. My family has lived here for many generations and the land knows us well, those that follow us and dwell here are said to be protected by the trees of the Goldband but it is merely a myth."
Heaving himself to his paws, Relic shook out his gold-streaked peltage. Behind him a breeze rattled through the golden leaves of the trees making them whisper. Relic cast a glance behind him to gaze at the brilliantly colored trees with his mismatched eyes, remembering clearly that his mother had adored the trees of the Goldband because she had been an earth elemental. He also remembered her joy when he was around because the earth thrived in the light he could create for it. Those that told tales of his land claimed it was his light that kept the trees golden and healthy, singing with their fortune and life.
Shaking his head in wonder at the odd things wolves came up with, he looked back at Savoy for her answer.

Savoy heard his anser, if his family lived on the lands of Arien for a while. That ment something didn`t it?She tried to think of this, not noticeing that she was so deep in thought that hher powers had desided to wrap around her, covering her in tendrils of water. If his familey has been dwelling her for a while, that could mean,She looked at the brute, could it be ? No, he couldn`t be, his actions don`t indicate it so.She thought of what he had said of the trees of Goldband. So those where what the golden leafed trees where called. She tilted her head, than realized that she had covered herself in tendrils of water. She moved her tail from side to side, carefully dispersing of the water tendriels. They fell one by one to the ground laying there like some still thing. She placed a paw to the grounnd, hopeing the tendrils would dissaper. They didn`t.Now she had a new problem to face. She didn`t want to leave the tendrils here, stitting there useless. She was faced with a few desions.Carefully placeing her front paws indide one of the tendrels of water. It swirled around her, she orderd it in her mind to dissaper.Still it didn`t.She tried the trick with another tendriel, it worked on this one.She progressed makeing all the other tendrils dissaper. There was only one left now.Unfortunatly she didn`t know what to do with it.Savoy had never been in this position before, ussualy all her creations dissaperd when she told them too.
She looked at the tendril than to the brute, whos name she still didn`t know. She still didn`t want to leave the tendril there.Maybe he could help."Sorry to ask, but I need some help..."She wonderd what he could do to help, when she didn`t know his power. If he had the power of light he could evaporatie the tendriel,if he had the power of earth the tendril could be swallowed by ground. She felt a fool for asking.

Turning his regal head the sunkissed brujo watched silently as Savoy seemed to struggle with the tendrils of water that had appeared around her when he had spoken. It was distantly amusing but the alpha clenched his jaw to keep from laughing, that was impolite and rude. Besides, how many times had his own father laughed at his struggles with his element? Instead, Relic merely watched. If she did decide to join the pack then it would be good to know the extent of her abilities. She wasn't a master, that much was obvious but still, anyone could be good enough with time and patience. It would be a decent learning experience since she was actually figuring out how to get the tendrils to fall away into the earth. He smiled softly thinking how his mother would greatly approve of a wolf feeding the forest even if Savoy wasn't an earth elemental.
Relic barely bit back a smile when he saw the stubborn last tendril refuse to disperse. Her admission to needing help actually caught him slightly off guard. Relic blinked for a moment and rose to his paws, padding a bit closer to Savoy. His paws touched the ground lightly, almost soundless as he approached her. Catching her eye he allowed a small smile to appear on his maw.
"You might want to close your eyes" he suggested.
Fire wolves would be better advised to evaporate water but light wolves could create heat as well because all heat came from the sun, even the heat of a fire elemental's flame. Taking a deep breath, Relic called up the powers he had long ago mastered. Slowly spheres of golden light appeared at the ends of his fur making his body glow and then the light began to pulse, steady like a heartbeat. Warmth washed over him as he let his powers run through him making him glow steadily brighter and hotter, the warmth growing. He wasn't aiming to evaporate the tentical of water but instead to dry the ground. If the ground was dry it would be more likely to take Savoy's offered water and perhaps it would disperse?
Opening his eyes, Relic reined in the light and let it fade. He touched the ground with a paw and found the top layers to be drier now. "Try letting it go now" he told her, noticing he had accidentally evaporated the tendril a little with his light.

Savoy had closed her eyes at his comment. She had felt the ground under her paws seem to get dryer. She than felt her fur seem to fluff up as well. The feather that hung behind her ear seemed to get dryer and well everything that happened made her rember what the fire pack had done to her.She shiverd mentaly just thinking about it, she hoped that his power was light, not fire. She opened her eyes when the heat seemed to fade away.At a instenct she orderd her powers to create a ball of water around her, but she realized that the wolf had tried to dry the ground.Letting her bubble of protection hover, she slowly inspected the tendrel of water that was left.
Placeing her right front paw on it she gave to command for it to fade. The tendril did so, slithering into the dried ground like a snake would slither into its burrow. The bubble of water that she had made on a instinct lowerd to the ground with a swish of her tail.Blinking a eye the bubble of water dissaperd like the tendriel did.She looked at the brute, desideing that he mmust have the power of light. Ussualy fire wolfs had red coats, this brute had gold. She lifted her head, and looked the brute in the orbs. She had desided that she would join this Arien pack, though she didn`t know if this wolf was part of it, so who was she to tell?
"I have desided to join this Arien pack, but I would like to tell a alpha."Savoy sat down, her tail curleing around her front paws. She thought silently to herselfAnd if my notion is true I take it your the alpha

Relic didn't move when the fae opened her eyes. A bubble of water seemed to rise up around the fae but the only sign Relic showed of noticing was the tensing of his muscles under his lush streaked pelt. He remembered her mentioning fire wolves and tried not to look offended or agitated at her thought that he would hurt her. It was hard though, seeing as Relic was a wolf of his pride, shy of vain but still proud. From when he had met his great great great grandmother, Relic could only assume it was simply a strong family trait but he didn't bother trying to be humble. He was a wolf of grand blood with Austrila as the root of his family tree, he had rights to his pride.
Frowning slightly at her next comment, Relic snorted softly. "Who do you think you're looking at?" he barked a bit icily, now twice offended. "My name is Relic and the Arian Pack is the pack of my grandsires."
The alpha failed to mention that he was the only current occupant of the Goldband. No need to give Savoy a thought that his pack was weak. Yes, the pack was almost dead but so long as his blood flowed in his veins Relic would put everything he had into reviving the Arians and making them strong again, a pack to be proud of. The thought made his fur shimmer lightly with a subtle golden light radiating from his hopes and dreams.
Noticing it, Relic faded the light and met Savoy's gaze steadily with his mismatched eyes, silently daring her to challenge his claim. He wasn't vain, no but his pride was wounded not once but twice. Her earlier antics had not brought any harm but offenses were easily remembered in Relic's eyes though redeemable but still remembered. It didn't take much to set him off with newcomers, especially when it was possible other lone males might try to challenge him for the rights to rule the Goldband since it was only he that held the land, more by name and blood then anything.

She hadn`t expected him to snap back at her like that.Savoy instead of being offended or wanting to fight back with a snipped word or two instead felt hurt. She stood and backed away a few steps, drawing a bubble of water arouned her.The bubble wouldn`t protect her from words but it helped her, just barely. She now sat, looking at him still just not knowing how to act.She shiverd slightly for a unknown reason. She drew the bubble closer now, as if trying to wrap it arouned her.Once she thought of wrapping she felt to bubble turn into a blanket like a cover that was now draped over her.
She should be used to getting pushed away, and faced torward another drection.Only this time it was diffrent.Always she knew what she was to do, go to another pack, survive a blizzard. This time she felt odd, like something had been torn away from her.She swished her tail and stood. She had never been one to shrink away, never been one that had been hurt by words, she was going to join this pack if it was the death of her.She now stared into the brutes eyes with a determined coldness. She stood in front of the brte the bubble of water that she had wrapped around her drawing away from her and hanging behind her bode.
"Well than Relic, since you are the alpha.I may as well say that I want to join your pack. But it seems that you may already know that."Once she got the words out she felt something in her want to back down. She lowerd her tenceness and took a step back.

Relic frowned mentally as he watched that blasted bubble of water reappear. This wolf had absolutely no control! She thought she did but Relic could just imagine the various lectures and speeches his deceased father, Thorn, would have thrown at her for pulling water out of the air and out of the ground every time she got a little startled. It was maddening. Still, Relic reminded himself firmly that like it or not, pride or not, he needed wolves to rebuild the Arian pack. Right now Savoy was his only choice and he really shouldn't be picky. Besides, maybe he could help her?
Forcefully pushing away his irritation, Relic heaved a heavy sigh and seemed to droop a little as if he'd just exhaled his pride. Of course that wasn't the case but it looked like it. The indignation and irritation died out of his mismatched optics and his half-raised fur laid flat once more.
"As I said before, do as you like" Relic barked in reply. "Stay or go, it makes little difference but I do ask that you please stop throwing your powers around. It's maddening." He cast her a disapproving look that had no real burn to it. "Use your powers when you must, not just because you're scared of me or I startle you. If I was going to attack you, then you drown me but if you keep doing what you're doing there'll be patches of dry land all over the Goldband before winter's coming."
Often Relic was considered powerless because he lived by this law but it was a good one. Using powers sapped energy better used for other things. Wolves had survived without powers and a few still did. In Relic's mind that reason alone was enough to warrant no unnecessary use. Then again, Relic was never able to really tell what was his thinking and what was his father's enforced laws lingering despite his death.

Savoy orderd the blanket of water to spread over the ground than seep into it.She watched in satisfaction as the earth seemed to drink the water up.Though she still senced the water laying under the crust of the earth for a moment. As if wanting to stay.Than it disperd fartuer into the earth till she could no longer sence it.Savoy glad that she had done something for the earth around her looked up at the alpha.Though the glance was short for Savoy had sneezed, shackeing her head Svoy opened her orbs onced more before yet agian looking at the alpha.
Somehow she just couldn`t get used to calling him Relic.RelicShe said the name once in her mind, as if trying to im-print it there.Savoy stood and walked along where the borders of her water blanket had been, just to make sure all of it was gone. It wasn`t all her falut that she used her powers so mutch, the water seemed to cling to her in a odd way.She walked back torward Relic, her orbs looking into the forest as she went. She senced something there, a huge gathering of water that seemed to be stored underground. She itched to draw it out and spread it where she knew the earth was still dry.
She padded torward Relic and sat before him twitching her ear to hear the beads the connected her feathers clink together."I`ll stay, I don`t have any where else to go.Also by saying that I don`t mean that I would join another pack if I could because I wouldn`t."She looked at the brute once more."You look like a master in your art, I as you have seen am no master."

Watching carefully, Relic made sure she dispersed the water cloak now that he seemed to have proven it useless. While within the Goldband her safety would rest on him and Relic had no real problem with that. Better someone that knew what they were doing looked after her. If her powers proved faulty in battle, it could prove to be deadly. Relic knew he could rely on his powers to fight with him and for him when it came to keeping his lands and pack safe. This fae however, he didn't trust her powers or her as far as he could throw her but that was just him. She could say she would stay now and then run off in three months. So long as Relic kept an eye on her it wouldn't make much of a difference to him. She was another wolf, another whelp to care for as his father would have said. Mentally Relic cringed. He needed a life, a real and actual life rather then acting like his father's ghost, it was starting to freak him out.
Focusing on Savoy's question, Relic nodded in reply to her question while seating himself back on his haunches. "My father would accept nothing less then master for his heir. With proper practice your powers will become second nature, an extension of yourself rather then something to hide behind." A dim light pulsed through him in time with his heartbeat as visual for Savoy. "It will reflect your life, your soul and become less of a thing and more of a part of you."
Letting the pulsing light fade from his coat, Relic gave his streaked fur a brisk shake as if shaking away the light. He was almost envious of Savoy's lack of skill. She hadn't been forced, drilled and trained into being a master elemental by the necessity of a parent trying to revive a dead pack. More then once as a young wolf Relic had thought of running away simply because the pack was "dead." Until his father's death Relic had never seen the value in Thorn's dream, the necessity of it. He wouldn't leave the Goldband to anyone but his own bloodline because it felt like the place loved him and his kin. No real harm had befallen them here before Austrila had entered his life. Relic shooed away the thought, mentally cringing away from the thought of his ancestor.

Sovoy considored this, 'It will reflect your life, your soul and become less of a thing and more of a part of you.'She looked down to her paws, than shook her head hearing the feather-beads click together, than swished her tail.No water came from the ground, Savoy had no intention of makeing it.The feathers tied to her fur behind her ears had added on over the years, marking what major things she had learned. She had three feathers. One for knowing how to end her creations, one for passing a basic test, and the last for knowing how to make water come to you when you needed it most.Over time she had grown acustemed to not getting anymore feathers, she had let her powers lap into them selfs and become a giant mass of a thing that seemed un-controlable.She knew she needed to start untangeleing the mass.
If she ever left the pack, she would leave knowing another thing.Haveing another feather, and haveing a neat knot of powers.Ussualy when she vowed to do something she would send up the sign that the fire wolfs had taught her.Savoy was afraid to show this wolf that she knew how to make the sign. The sign was only a thing pups of the fire pack were taught at birth.A little puff of embers that where sent into the sky and shaped into a circle. She tried to rember the signs of it, just in case she wanted to make the sign. She thought of what he had said, yet agian.Letting her powers reflect her life was a scary thing for her.She knew most iinter mediate tricks, and had been taught by her mother one advandsed intermediate trick that she had never fully learned what to do with.
She looked past the brutes shoulder into the forest of golden leaves."Letting your power guide you?Is that what you mean?"She blinked twise when she said it for she had souned very femme like."Sorry,`bought that."She said softly looking down at her paws.
